How I turned $198 into $773 with zero effort.

Spoiler alert: it was all thanks to Keepa.

I was traveling through my state in January for Walmart clearance and I found a Frozen Ball Pit toy priced at $11.

I scanned with my Amazon app to see that it was profitable, with low FBA at mid $40s.

But that’s not the whole story.
When I looked at the Keepa chart, it told me that Amazon has just gone out of stock.

Normally, Amazon is in stock at $20-25.

If I buy this toy at $11 and Amazon comes in stock, I cannot sell without losing money.

But..

That’s not the whole story!
Here were my takeaways from the Keepa chart:

-Amazon is in stock a lot
-When Amazon goes OOS, the toy has a great ROI
-I probably cannot sell this toy immediately

Do you think any of these things are important when buying something for a profit?

So, I thought...
If Amazon had NEVER gone out of stock until now, I would NOT have bought the toy.

Too risky - what if it were a fluke?

But they had more than once, so I knew there was a good chance that I could make a profit if I held the toys for a few months.

30 seconds after finding it
I made my decision and put all of them in my cart.

I went to dozens of Walmarts that month, and every time I saw a ball pit, it was $11 and I bought all of them.

I ended up with 18.

I also shared my find with Twitter, and a few others bought as well.

One day, my phone buzzed!
Amazon had just gone OOS again and my followers that bought were already selling at $43!

Read to the end of this thread for the original tweet.

Anyway, I quickly sent all 18 that I found into FBA but I was too late.
Amazon was already back in stock while my ball pits were stuck in FBA transfer.

No worries, I priced at $44.95 and reset my Keepa alerts for the higher price, and went about my business.

And then, finally..
I got the long-awaited message that Amazon was OOS again!

I was priced just a few dollars above the lowest, so I went ahead and matched the low so I could clear all 18 quickly and avoid a hit to my IPI score for sitting inventory.

In the end,
That little addition to my shopping trips, sold at the right time, generates an additional $773.10 in revenue and $283.50 in net profit.

Zero effort to look at a Keepa chart and KNOW that you are making a safe and profitable buying decision.
And of course, I love to share my knowledge with you.

I document my reselling journey and profitable finds here on Twitter for my followers to profit as well. https://twitter.com/oliverflips/status/1340881578046726144
