For the rich, it won’t matter.
The poor may or mayn’t make it, through the civil hospitals.
But among others things, what does it cost the Middle Class, to survive a bout of COVID19 ?
Estimate is, if a person reaches ICU state, they come out of hospital
₹ 10 - 15 lac lighter .
Having survived, you’re lucky if just one of the family landed up in ICU, there’s always the probability, of multiple family members landing up in ICU.
So the bills start multiplying.
Then start the post COVID19 complications.

One could come out with lung fibrosis , it is irreversible & need oxygen continually, rehabilitation could take a year & yet the person wouldn’t be the same again.
Intravascular coagulations ( blood clotting ), could require surgery & may yet end up in multiple organ failure & mortality.
The family of course ends up spending another ₹ 10 - 15 lac.

Mind you, this is after you’ve recovered from COVID19.
Mucormycosis (black fungus), is killing & maiming.
Chances are, you’ll be blind or the doctors have removed your jaws & a large part of your face, if you’re lucky you won’t survive.
It is a side effect of the body steroids used to cure COVID19
@YediBurfy says costs ₹ 50 lac.
The issue here is, large sections of the population doesn’t have insurance cover, most of those who have cover, are under covered.
Few, very few would have insurance cover of ₹ 50 lac to a crore, which is the ballpark figure we’re looking at, post COVID19 complications.
What we’re anticipating is post COVID19,many families may end up
a ) running through life savings
b ) liquidating investments
c ) liquidating fixed assets in a fire sale.
d ) Running up debt, that’ll be difficult to repay.
In short, the middle class is shafted.
Now the main question, has the nikammi Modi Sarkar, woken up to these possibilities ?
It seems inconceivable, that the PM hasn’t been briefed about the post COVID19, developing situation, has the PM chosen to ignore the problem, like he chose to ignore the second wave ?
I haven’t taken, post recovery visits to the doctor, or medicines you may have to take at home, into consideration here.
