My mom called me today feeling very disturbed. She is on the verge of losing a teaching job in a Private Basic School. She said the head teacher called them in on Friday to tell them that the Ministry of Education has directed that private schools should employ graduate

and certified teaching stuff hence they have to prepare to be laid off from next year.

I had to calm her down but I had these questions.
1. Which graduate will take that 250gh a month for the work that she is doing?
2. How is govt now instructing private institutions on who

they should recruit because they are paying them.
3. If this goes ahead a lot of young graduates will get some jobs to do so will many who come and stay at home because they will be jobless.
4. Why not rather help these private institutions to train their already existing stuff?

A whole lot of questions on this. It is not that these private schools are not performing better than the public schools so I wonder why this decision?
