It’s no secret: I am a massive $ETH fan boy
But this love didn’t just come out of thin air
It’s a result of some extremely strong fundamentals in crypto that could take $ETH to the moon
Why am I so bullish?
THREAD BELOW

Let’s go back to where it began for me
My first intro into crypto was August 2017 when China banned ICOs
I did not know what an ICO was
Going into 3rd year of uni, I started researching crpyto further
The result? My dissertation on utility token application for gaming ICOs

During my dissertation, I found that despite knowing about Bitcoin first, I preferred Ethereum
I liked how almost every new project was being built on Ethereum’s blockchain, with smart contract functionality (more on that later)
I also preferred how Vitalik is the face of it

Crypto has grown massively since 2017 and Ethereum is at the heart of a lot of it
Smart contracts work off an If-Then principle and can be used for transactions, lending and borrowing, supply chains, government voting and much more
Here’s a good guide: https://www.google.com/amp/s/cointelegraph.com/ethereum-for-beginners/what-are-smart-contracts-guide-for-beginners/amp

DeFi is a huge innovation in the crypto space and most applications are built on Ethereum
The uses include DEXs, Stablecoins, lending platforms, yield farming, liquidity mining and more
There is $83.77 BILLION locked in DeFi

The Ethereum network has had exponential growth in unique addresses and is now over 150 million
Daily transactions have also experienced exponential growth, and so have average transaction fees and value
EXPONENTIAL (in case I didn’t say it enough)

Those fees feed into miner revenue
The guys and girls that are securing the network and making everything run smoothly
Well, they brought in over $1.59bn in April whilst transactions topped over 40 million in a month for the first time

Okay, sure, apparently people are looking to build on $BSC $ADA $DOT $SOL and maybe others
But the fact is, there’s over 3000 dapps built on Ethereum and most of the established projects are built on Ethereum’s blockchain
Especially the DeFi applications I referred to earlier

NFTs are big right now
You may have heard of the digital artist Beeple who sold an NFT for $69 MILLION for the image below (I just saved it from Google for free)
Even the Four Lads In Jeans are selling their meme for £1 million at auction
$ETH helps facilitates these sales

It’s not just what Ethereum facilitates; there’s also big changes for Ethereum itself
EIP-1559 is a fee burn proposal aiming to change the fee model by making transaction fees more predictable, reducing confirmation delays and improving user experience

ETH 2.0 will shift Ethereum’s consensus algorithm from Proof of Work (what Bitcoin uses) to Proof of Stake
It aims to increase scalability and accessibility to the network
ETH currently supports 30 transactions per second; implementing shard chains can allow 100,000 per second

The average person may be uncomfortable purchasing $ETH directly
That’s where an Exchange Traded Fund (ETF) can help
3 Canadian $ETH ETFs were approved in one day

Big big big companies are using Ethereum for enterprise use cases
I’m talking about companies like Amazon, McDonald’s, BP, Google, Microsoft, Samsung and more
The technology is experiencing an increase in adoption from the institutions and corporations

This is the part I’m not keen on because I don’t like price predictions
If we look at Bitcoin, it has touched more than 3x it’s 2017 ATH
If $ETH does the same, it’ll touch at least $4,500 which I think is reasonable
But I’ve seen $40,000 predictions https://marketrealist.com/p/james-wang-ethereum-prediction/

Let me be clear: I’m not saying $ETH has the best price potential
What I do think is the fundamentals are amazing and it’s stood the test of time, and has room to gain on Bitcoin
In general, this is the money flow of crypto
Follow the trend
