[Re] termination Commentary Thread (cw suicide, religion)
Re-thinking how to interpret its lyrics. Some have said that perhaps it alludes to a suicidal pact between 2 lovers, or self-destruction. Yet, no matter how their demise will be, they shall continue singing together

æ„œćœ’ in "æ„œćœ’ă§ăŸăŸäșŒäșșうたおう" can refer to either paradise or the Garden of Eden. the former is utopia but also relates to the after-life. the latter relates to Genesis that represents beginnings, & a perfect world where 2 humans live together blissfully & God oversees them

RONDO songs are dystopian & recognise that their world is filled with despair, but hv a running theme of rebirth, eternity & oaths. Destroying your current world & building a new one.

skip to 3 tweets later if you don't wanna see religious themes the lyrics could allude to

Christianity has a concept of your past self dying & your life being renewed again, not in the sense of reincarnation but by belief in Jesus. But the phrases "distorted hymn of gratitude" & "even if God doesn't forgive us" suggest that obedience to God isn't RONDO's aim here

Nirvana & Reincarnation are not Christian concepts, but are Buddhist ones. Nirvana means liberation from repeated rebirth & suffering. 1 of RONDO's songs is titled Nirvana & talks abt rebirth cycles too. don't ask me why eMSS stuffs vague religious themes into RONDO songs

Now consider that they swear [Re]termination & [Re]incarnation. [re] implies a repeat but also hints that the word can be read w/o it. removing the [re], we get termination & incarnation.
termination= ending something, incarnation= each earthly lifetime

[Re] termination is abt starting from a clean slate & unleashing the monster within oneself. The 2nd verse implies the world they're currently living in is Hell. What they're wishing for in the pre final chorus is paradise/ Garden of Eden, which is the opposite

Whether [Re] termination is abt destroying oneself or the world, it has dark rebellious themes. if we take it as a suicide pact between 2 lovers, they're abandoning their current world & closing themselves off frm it, hoping to reach their own paradise & sing together
/+
the lovers' suicide pact interpretation still ties in with prayer[s] & Celsius:
-Someday, until the both of us arrive at our utopia, Keep believing that we aren’t over yet"
-"Sink me down into the dark abyss"
-"For the light to never reach us, I shall fall even deeper"

My interpretation based on the lyrics, MV & eMSS tweets: despite the pain & uncertainty over how the future might be, Tsubaki & Aoi will keep singing even if the world is against them. they will rebel against it & close themselves off the world again, unafraid of God & death
/+
I'm inclined to think [Re] termination is a declaration of rebellion & not a suicide pact cuz
-the lyrics reflect courage & a rebellious spirit more than resignation
-its MV shifts from a night sky to a sunrise at the end
-Celsius is its prequel & about starting life afresh frm 0
