Once upon a time, I met a girl.

I knew immediately that she was special, but I had no idea just how much. For some strange reason, she chose me and we got married.
She made my life wonderful in every way. I thought I understood just how special she was, but I was wrong. One year after our marriage she became a mother, and that’s when I started to understand.
Each of us has unique, God given talents. Some are brilliant. Some are athletic. Some are world leaders.
She was a mom.
That sounds so simple, but it isn’t. Not everyone can love like a mom. Not everyone can handle the stress, challenges, and fears that come with motherhood. But this is what she was born to do.
And she took her roles as wife, mother, teacher, nurse, and friend very seriously. All of this came naturally.
There is nothing in this universe greater than a mother’s love, and she demonstrates that every single day of our life together.
One of the hardest things that God asks of mothers is to let their children go. And she has dealt with that challenge with grace and love.
And just when I thought that I really understood just how deeply she could love, we were blessed with the arrival of grandchildren. And her unique ability to love so completely became so obvious
I have been both blessed and humbled to have Herself in my life. She is a better person than I in every way. And I’m a better man because of her influence.
She is the kindest, most loving person that I have ever known. The most beautiful woman that I have ever seen. And the most amazing mother and grandmother possible.

Happy Mother’s Day.
I love you.
