My lovely Father in law passed away suddenly last Monday so not really been in the mood to post since then. Just as well really after Thursdays pathetic performance against a rank average Villarreal side.
Whole season has been an utter disaster and listening to countless Arteta interviews effectively exonerating himself of any blame has been pretty disgraceful in all honesty.
Yes the players are partly to blame but Arteta has bought half of them, coached all of them for 18 months, and made some quite shocking managerial decisions.
The Captaincy issue has been a disaster, playing Willian over Martinelli (what is his problem with him?) baffling and his selections and tactics over vital Europa league SF’s simply appalling.
Yet listening to him you sense he just doesn’t get any of this and actually thinks he’s done as well as he can with this squad. That’s total bollox and half the managers in the PL would get more out of our squad than he has.
He’s also been incredibly lucky that there’s been no fans at games because there’s no way in this world he’d still be manager if there has been. I mean by any measure he’s been one of the worst Arsenal managers of all time.
Where do we go from here though? For me he’s had more than enough chances and should be replaced immediately. I’d like that to happen under new owners but I’m not particularly hopeful of either happening.
Doesn’t mean we shouldn’t keep protesting though and I’ll certainly do my bit although for obvious reasons I can’t make today. I’ll also never stop hating SK regardless of what he does pre-season and want him out of our Club.
Sadly it’s more than likely Arteta and SK will be starting next season at the Club so what should or could happen that might just help us improve (which shouldn’t be difficult)?
Firstly a new Club captain should be appointed. Secondly the likes of Bellerin, Xhaka, Holding, Luiz. Aubameyang, Lacazette, Willian etc should either be sold or should be squad players only.
Four new players must be signed who’ll go directly into the first eleven and the manager has to stop trying to copy Pep and Man City. And if we start next season badly-which I expect us to do-he has to go ASAP.
We’re in a dire fucking mess really and I hope more than anything that Daniel Ek gets the chance to run this Club in the way he’s suggested he will.
