Dear @Conservatives

As a first time ever Tory voter, previously lifelong Labour, what annoys me the most is tribalism and blind support. If you want to convince the likes of me to vote for you again, then learn to take criticism, and accept the fact that my opinion matters too.
This goes for you and your most loyal supporters. We’re people too. Labour took us for granted, and they’ve been punished for it. The same can happen to you too. You’re not Gods. You’re no more worthy of an automatic following than Labour are.
I, for one, am left feeling deeply hurt by Labour. #Brexit was a large part of it, but it’s not the only factor.

You can either reach out to us and really listen to us, or you can take our votes for granted and face the consequences at the next GE.
I haven’t given the @Conservatives my vote. I’ve given you consent to borrow it.

Yes, I’m so furious with @UKLabour that I won’t be going back to them. But that doesn’t mean I’ll stick with you either.

I’ve spoken in your defence because you respected the sanctity of my vote.
Like most voters, I want the very best for my country. At the moment, I believe in your ability to do this. But I urge you to self reflect on an ongoing by basis, so that you always do better. You won’t have the cover of a pandemic for much longer.
Please don’t do what Labour have done to their voters. Please don’t take my vote for granted. Please don’t take me for granted.

I’ve often spoken out in your defence, and praised you when you’ve done well. I also expect you to take criticism when it’s due.
This is a turning point for many ex Labour voters who have voted Tory for the first time. That includes much of my family. It was a very difficult decision for some of us.

Please don’t let us down.
