I can’t help but notice that this tribute to veteran Sun reporter John Kay omits an important event in his life - the time he murdered his wife
Trying to think of a public figure which The Sun might write an obit for, in which they don’t mention he murdered their spouse but do mention he was a good tennis player, and coming up short tbh
I can’t find my version of Stick it Up Your Punter but here’s a bit more about it. Surely it warranted a line or two in his obit, if only about how gracious the Sun was to rehire him after the murder and helped rehabilitate him?
As people have pointed out, it was incorrect to use the word “murdered” in the original tweet. Kay pleaded guilty to manslaughter - “killed” would be more accurate
