kate walsh didn’t “say” the n-word or fake mental illness: a THREAD. just going to preface by saying i’m making this and logging off the app. this thread will be based on facts and not just a bunch of rumors. please stop slandering people like this. it’s disgusting.
1. kate has absolutely joked about her own experiences with anxiety and humor is a perfectly valid coping mechanism. it doesn’t mean it’s FAKE. misinterpreting an interview gives no one the right to say she fakes. LISTEN to her:
2. here is her SPECIFICALLY talking ab past trauma she had flying. no one better say “this wasn’t that bad” or “she doesn’t need an ESA after this” uh trauma isn’t some competition. how about we stop judging people.
3. her mentioning that she has a “mental health professional” that could prescribe her w things if he saw fit. only psychiatrists can prescribe medications; they are indeed mental health professionals.
4. talking about when she started having panic attacks 30 YEARS AGO.
5. TALKING AB PASSIVE SUICIDAL IDEATION.
if you listen to that one interview, you’ll hear that whoever she went to SEE ab the ESA is the one who wrote things she didn’t have on the prescription. she said she went in and mentioned anxiety. she isn’t a doctor and can’t just change what’s written

onto the “n word” thing: now initially, i’m black, so i’m allowed to speak on this. kate QUOTING trump is NOT her “saying” anything. since when did we start saying what’s inside QUOTATION MARKS is your own words?? not how quotes work...
also think ab this. what exactly does putting ** inside a word do other than further desensitize people to it? reading n***** is almost numbing compared to the actual word and so what this is doing is honestly HELPING white supremacy in that when people read the word, its impact
isn’t as shocking. people who say those disgusting slurs should be associated with the word’s FULL atrociousness. also...if you saw someone tweet n***** you would rightfully call them out for saying it. that’s because the asterisks don’t change the meaning of the word. they only
change its perception by making it less harsh, which as previously discussed, isn’t good bc then people implicitly don’t associate whoever said it with as much hostility. when you look at academic articles/journals, you’ll find they often quote things exactly how they were said.
think about this: i heard this woman say, “i hate black people.” would that be ME saying “i hate black people?” no because what i said was outside the quotes. kate tweeted what she did because she was trying to give examples about this:
she wrote “this man said” AND put what trump said in quotes to be crystal clear that it wasn’t her saying it. she was calling out racism and other forms of discrimination and there is zero ambiguity to this point. just let the woman live
