What a colorful weekend it has been.
I visited a wellness centre where no one was wearing masks.
“Oh, we don’t believe in Covid here..” I was told.
Super interesting.
What was weirder was how I was ‘othered’ when choosing to keep my mask on.

It’s like I ceased to be a full person.
People who felt uncomfortable with me being there addressed the lady I was walking with.
“..can you explain to her she can take her mask off here?”
As though being different meant I didn’t understand and I was somehow stupid.

One lady did approach me and said I MUST take my mask off. In slow words, like one would with a small child. With helpful hand gestures and everything..
As though I wanted to but didn’t know the mechanics of it.

Sheesh.

Good luck to these folks when the third wave arrives.
