This play shocks me more every time I watch it.

Arm strength is off the charts, and playmaking ability definitely stands out, as seen here. Uncorks an absolute DOT after spinning out of a sack.
As he displayed earlier in this game, Willis is a threat with his legs.

The fear of his rushing ability freezes the defense for a fraction of a second, allowing him to split 2 defenders and find a man in the endzone.

Back to back great throws outside the pocket.
The fear of the run game was instilled early on, primarily with off-script rushing plays, like this one.

Wills shows some escapability to get through and set up Liberty with a short fourth down situation.
Difficult throws while evading pressure, such as the one below, come easy to him.

Willis is able to get the ball 35 yards downfield while fading away with just a flick of the wrist.

The subtle movement away from the pressure without panic scrambling was also a very mature trait
Willis is definitely a raw talent, but he’s not a polished prospect just yet.

Back to back bad plays here. First puts the out route right out of the receivers reach, then throws a tipped pass that nearly gets picked.

Second one is mainly due to a low dip in his throwing motion.
Ball security is another inconsistency.

Willis holds the ball a little too far out, which allows for the DL to come in and force a fumble.

While Willis has all of the raw talent, he must continue to work on the little things to become an elite 2022 draft prospect.
Willis’ teammates aren’t doing him any favors either.

He’s able to roll out and throw a deep ball right where his receiver can get it, just for him to misjudge the ball, resulting in an incompletion.

Nice throw that won’t show up on the stat sheet.
His off-script ability reminds me of DeShaun Watson. While he is often looking to pass, his legs are always there to help him get big yards.

With a pass rusher coming right at him, he’s able to make a few moves and get the first down and more.

Playmaking ability is crazy!
Nice back-shoulder throw put in the only spot where his receiver can get it.

When his mechanics are good, Willis can be very accurate.
Like I said earlier, he needs to work on the little things.

He lets his playmaking ability get the best of him here. Take the sack and live to play another down.

Don’t force the ball!
Along with the off-script plays, his ability in the read option is pretty spectacular.

Shows some RB-like patience, makes one quick move, and he’s gone.
Every run Willis makes shows athleticism rarely seen from the QB spot.

After getting out of the pocket, Willis is able to stretch this run by getting past Raiders 3rd round pick Divine Deablo.
Prime example of things to work on for the Liberty QB.

Touch could be better as he floats this ball over the receivers head for what could’ve been am impressive TD.
BALL. SECURITY.

While I like to see him keeping his eyes downfield, his awareness of where rushers are needs to improve in situations like this one.

Ball is, once again, too far out, allowing for a strip that was luckily recovered by Liberty.
Another example.

PROTECT THE FOOTBALL.

Ball was nearly stripped and fluttering throw is somehow saved and caught by a receiver.
The double clutch is a large component of this. I understand not fitting the ball in the tight window, but if you’re gonna throw it anyway, get it there as fast as possible.
Zip on short throws is something I look for in young QBs, and Willis definitely puts some heat on them.

Able to roll out and get the ball to his receiver quickly, keeping precious time on the clock in a close game.
There were several turnover worthy plays this game, and they seemed to come in crucial moments.

Edge is clearly playing off and not engaging with the blocker. Willis has to realize this and not out the ball so low when trying to get it to the receiver.
After watching the Virginia Tech game, it’s clear that Willis has talent. While he has some technical things to work on, he definitely has star potential. I look forward to watching more of him in 2021 and beyond.
