NFTs are a certificate of ownership via blockchain for a piece of art/media. You are not the owner of the art when this happens. You are the owner of a certificate that just says you own it. NFTs are also a nightmare for the environment. The amount of energy made by NFTs is staggering to the point it has basically undone the last 10 years of renewable energy progress. Its one of the few things that you as an individual can do to work in the climate crisis.
