Genuinely feel sorry for any kid named Hermione in the past 20 years or so.
There was, like, a Reddit thread a couple months ago from a girl who wanted to change her name the moment it was legal because people kept shouting TEN POINTS FOR GRYFFINDOR at her and I think about her every day.
GOD, the poor Game of Thrones kids, YES. https://twitter.com/onnasannomiya1/status/1391241069392646148?s=19
To be very clear, I support parents naming their kids with beautiful unique names that are meaningful to them! I just...it is worth keeping in mind that other kids are cruel.

Maybe hedge with a less-unique middle name they can use? Idk.
Also, I was absolutely planning to name my child something like Sierra Luna Silverstar Mardoll or something when I was a wee baby, so I MEAN. I get the impulse. 😂
This is an extremely good point, thank you!! (My mind was thinking about Fantasy Book Names and I didn't think how this conversation can be used to stifle non-white-coded names.) https://twitter.com/NaomiKritzer/status/1391247893495955456?s=19
