Ate at a Mexican food restaurant tonight. More specifically, Tex-Mex. It's one that was imported to Dallas from another city in Texas. It was excellent. There is one city in Texas that, on balance, does Mexican food better than anywhere else in the US. Anyone know? Texas peeps?
Ok, well, the correct answer is Houston. It didn't start with Ninfa's (1973), but that was the best end product, which still lives on today. El Hacienda is my favorite. The one we went to tonight was El Lupe Tortilla. Houston Tex-Mex has a particular style. I think it is the best
Correction, El Tiempo Houston, not El Hacienda. If you are ever in Houston and want to eat what is, IMO, the best Tex Mex you can get, this is it.
