We already know why: they’re making examples of these men and others like them. They needn’t bother arresting and fining everyone so long as a few arrests scare everyone into compliance. Thus, this pastor’s comparison to the Gestapo. 2/

True, perhaps. But that’s utterly beside the point. The police prove that public safety is not their concern by selectively enforcing the order against shepherds, knowing that by doing so they can scatter the flock. 3/

Christians have it worse elsewhere, yes. No one disputes that. But that’s no reason to close our eyes and ears to what is happening now when we might still have a chance to stop things from getting as bad as it is in other places. 4/4
