2) Ontario also reported 25 new deaths from COVID-19 today.

1 of the deaths is from an individual under 40.
3) Attached is a chart of COVID deaths in Ontario, by date of onset symptoms. COVID has not been less deadly in Ontario since Summer 2020.
4) 61% (1744) of today's cases are found in individuals under 40 years old. The current case fatality rate in this demographic is just 0.02%. This number has held true throughout waves 1-3, and is unchanged by variants.
5) Just 6% (169) of today's cases are found in individuals 70 years or older.

While still significant and concerning, it's important to note that their case fatality rate has improved from 17.5% in waves 1 & 2, to 7% in wave 3.
6) When broken down by age, and using case fatality rates from waves 2+3, 99.37% of the cases announced today would be expected to survive.
7) Regional Top 5 for newly reported cases today:

Peel (803 - 28%)
Toronto (684 - 24%)
York Region (285 - 10%)
Hamilton (133 - 5%)
Durham Region (125 - 4%)

The remaining regions account for just 30% of the cases. Yet all 7500000 Ontarians in those regions remain locked down.
8) Here is how each PHU would fare if @fordnation brought back the colour-coded system.

2 regions would be in Green, 8 in Yellow, 7 in Orange, and the rest would either be in Red or Grey. (The Ford government was never clear on what would necessitate a full lockdown vs Red.)
9) The goal of these tweets is point out anomalies and provide context to the daily case & death numbers reported by the government and the media.

I get my data by comparing day-to-day captures of this database from the Ontario gov't: https://data.ontario.ca/dataset/confirmed-positive-cases-of-covid-19-in-ontario
