the whole fe hate train is soley because of the way they are designed, if they were designed better i think we would never have this issue
the problem stems with marth and roy tbh, especially since roy was originally a clone, so trying to change him up was already a hard task, they did pretty ok with him though
but lucina and chrom imo, are the 2 that really cause the issue. I do know that lucina is designed like that soley because of where she came from and thats ok, but the fact chrom is a mix of an once clone and another already existing character is kinda lazy to me
I personally dont think its a good design choice if like the only difference between 2 characters one has a sweet spot and the other doesnt have to worry about it, i get theyre echos but i feel like they didnt have to be
Ike, robin, corrin, and byleth are some of the most unique ones we've gotten, robin and byleth probably being the 2 that stand out the most to me, but even then some choices are just odd like slapping a counter on them and just calling it a day
So i definitely appreciate robin and byleth for not having counter down b's by default. Its just bad when it feels like 4 of those 8 play very samey from each other, just feels like an overall cop-out
anyways im done rambling, tldr if the fe characters were given more distinct designs then the argument of too many probably would never be as severe as it is now, its grown into such a toxic ball that just never stops rolling if ever brought up
animations, movesets, even taunts to an extent could be changed to further make each of them stick out and feel more different from each other. oh i dream of something like that man, they do seem to be making them more unique with each addition though, thats where i call it
