last weekend I married my longtime partner in front of 23 people—9 fam members and 14 of our BEST friends. I felt so overwhelmed by love and support in a way I don’t think I would’ve with a big wedding. it was perfect & if you’re contemplating a small wedding I say GO FOR IT.
while I was planning so many people told me they wished they had done a smaller wedding or they wished they would’ve had a non-religious ceremony (our BFF was our officiant)...you don’t actually have to have a big wedding! do what YOU want, not what your parents want.
we have the luxury of both having smallish extended families but we invited zero cousins and that was...fine. everyone who would’ve been invited if it were 50-75 ppl sent texts wishing us well. people get it! if they’re your legit friends they’ll understand. no one was weird!
I feel so happy that I have zero regrets about our wedding. plan your wedding for you and your partner and no one else. it’s really that simple.
also for any weirdos all 25 of us were vaccinated and it was outdoors. it was incredible vibes because for most people it was the first THING they did post vaxx
