Alright, so here we go with my breakdown of Kyle Pitts, the uber talented TE out of Florida. Just letting you guys know, this might not be pretty stuff, going to look for quality reps blocking, attacking coverages and just his overall physicality! Enjoy

Iām assuming the way the defender here is lined up heās been told to keep inside leverage on Pitts and try to push him out towards the numbers, Pitts really doesnāt care what youāre suppose to do because he attacks the blind spot and gets an easy completion
Does a fantastic job becoming a lead blocker for his QB on this designed QB run, gets up to the second level where heās able to seal off a running lane for his QB.
This play gets absolutely destroyed (because the pulling IOL didnāt move anyone) but you also see Pitts come off the line in a strong base. This is going to be a tough ask to get your TE to make this running lane on a big physical DE, but heās not overly physical at the POA.
This is just a crispy release by Pitts against top 10 draft pick Patrick Surtain. Press coverage and he immediately dips his shoulder to force his way upfield. Clears out the safety and Surtain so Toney can get a one-on-one opportunity underneath.
Noticeably, vs Alabama's big front he's a willing blocker, that's without a doubt. He welcomes physicality, he can't always match it but he'll definitely make the initial block, doesn't always sustain it, but is aggressive towards the block, especially on the goal line.
Like I said, heāll get in there a mix it up especially on the second level with these LBs. Nothing really comes of the run, but just to see his willingness to get there and try to create the running lane is encouraging as well.
TE pull on the goal line inside the A gap vs Dylan Moses to be a lead blocker ? No problem, comes off and pulls with ill intent to create the easiest running lane the RB will have. Iām the RZ heās such an asset not just for his receiving ability either.
This is just called stealing. Pitts has off coverage and the DB has no inside help, simple slant that Pitts takes for about triple what this play should be. Thereās no way youāre going to win vs Pitts by playing off like this.
Moving on to the next game, but I'd say that Alabama, the best team in the country double teamed Pitts on probably 90% of that game and he still chalked up over 100 yards and a TD. Against some pretty spiffy competition in that secondary.
The video doesnāt do this play justice enough, he absolutely destroys this DE off the ball to create a big running lane for his running back to run through. I was actually surprised how well he blocked down on this. Pitts 100% can play in-line.
When he knows the running back is coming behind him he gets off the ball with so much more juice and he consistently clears out running lanes for his back. Iām actually surprised on how willing he is to come off the line and put his head into someoneās chest and move them.
So vs Georgia he stresses the defense so much that Florida is running everything off the back side of him. So think wheels, mesh, clear outs... It's opening up so many things for other guys that I can't see him coming into the league and not dominating one-on-one match ups
with guys that are beneath him. The way he demands coverage is crazy. He's bracketed on nearly every play with an over/under on him and they are constantly trying to keep inside leverage on him.
