The robes and baubles that cried out to the world where exactly you fit on the social scale.
The point is that it is not fitting to advertise social status at church, because in Christ there is no slave or free, but we are all one in Christ.
If one has wealth, they are to use it for good for their neighbor, not to flaunt it with their clothing.
As a side note - the church was full of slaves. They had no property of their own. What they wore, or IF they wore anything, that was at the whim of their masters.
Many of them wore nothing at all.

Before you start with the "YOU MEAN THAT WOMEN CAN WEAR WHATEVER THEY WANT???"

Hear me out. Love God. Dress as you please.
Praise God that you have clothes and that you have more than one set.
Dress with dignity and honor.
Teach your daughters to dress with dignity and honor as befitting their status as members of Christ.
Teach your sons to dress with dignity and honor as befitting their status as members of Christ.
And teach them both to learn to view one another as brothers and sisters in Christ
And one more thing..
Find a faithful church tomorrow. Find a church that teaches you who you are in Christ.
Rest in Him.
Sing his praises.
Learn to rest.
Talk to someone you have never met before.
Be kind.
The next time you see a person who is dressed attractively, or even seductively, look them in the eye, smile, say hello. And then move on.
You have no idea what their story is, but one thing is for sure - they don't need to be objectified by YOU, no matter who they are.
