Research on televangelists led me down a rabbit hole of researching conservative grifters from 20+ years ago and I've learned several things:
Very rarely do these people actually believe anything, they are hollow cynical shells who, more often than not, don't actually care about anything theyre saying. When it comes down to the wire, everything they report to believing in will be sacrificed for money.
Grifters who believe their own grift are doomed to melt down, it may take a while but you can only pretend to be bulletproof until someone gives you a gun and asks you to put your money where your mouth is.
Hopeful news:
In the long run, they always lose. The slow and inexorable march of progress always ends with society at large realizing that minorities are people. It takes time. Until then, sink in your claws and survive. Yesterday's scapegoat is tomorrow's boring schmuck.

What is actually being said basically does not matter. This is what trips liberals up. The important thing is how it's being said. There is no debate, only rage clicks. So don't engage, go for advertisers and platforms instead.

That said, you gotta catch em in the larval stage for compassion to work. Some of these fucks are just flat out evil and deserve the wall.
You gotta let people be better.
I don't mean "ignore racist tweets from last year" I mean "you can't say you're better, you have to BE better." Action is what matters. If someone is putting their money where their mouth is, I say they deserve a shot. I don't trust em though.
