I really hate the term “Black luxury” truthfully. Luxury is luxury and doesn’t need to be highlighted when black people buy expensive things.

Black people have always had access to luxury items. You never hear “White luxury” just because someone bought a pair of shoes.
I understand this sudden influx of the idea of black women on social media especially young women like luxury but it’s not a new thing at all. Nigerians, Congolese and African Americans have enjoyed luxury’s for decades ....
I first knew about Birkins for example when I was 8 years old. My aunties have always had them. Let alone shopping trips in Paris and shutting down Harris’s and Selfridges before the loyalty scheme.

The pandemic/ social media really has put pressure on people. It’s a real shame
Luxury is not aspirational I say this all the time. Luxury is lifestyle. It’s natural or it’s not.
Also luxury means different things to different people; travel, fine dinning, experiences, jewellery, art collection, real estate. Whatever it is just live your life authentically
