- actually before i was prompted to write my sakagin youkai au there was... a sakataka youkai au. wherein saltwater & freshwater creatures have always been on bad terms but the current rulers of respective territories want to end the feud by marrying their kids
so tatsuma (a dragon of the ocean) and shinsuke (a mizuchi of the rivers) are set to go on one date before the engagement. neither are enthusiastic about the arrangement, but while tatsuma resolves to just take it in stride, shinsuke wants to get the whole thing called off
said date didn't exactly go well. mostly bc of shinsuke who, upon meeting tatsuma, immediately falls in love, and hates the fact that he's fallen in love. he keeps sending tatsuma mixed signals; tatsuma was sure the wedding is going to be cancelled... but it never did
so they get engaged, they get married, they lived together at an estuary. they both still think the other is doing it solely because of duty. they only dare make a move on each other when they're tipsy; otherwise all they do is stare longingly at one another
haven't really thought about the conflict resolution part i just know it ends with a post-coital confession lmao

secretly married sakagin... except tatsuma is really bad at the whole keeping secret part (he never verbally slips up, but his entire body language just screams that he's in love with ginpachi). the students think he's still on the pining stage and tries to set them up lmao
in the end they have no choice but to admit that they're married because things were getting out of hand (the entire student body tried transforming the gym into a ~romantic venue~ so tatsuma can confess to him)
- sakataka high school au based on this meme lmao. new transfer student sakamoto tatsuma got a "threatening" letter from resident delinquent takasugi shinsuke
for this one i do have something written out even though it's just this one paragraph.
- sakataka joui war era fic, wherein shinsuke likes to secretly give tatsuma flowers (mostly while he's asleep), tatsuma tries to investigate who his secret admirer is and eventually does catch shinsuke in the act. in return once spring comes he showers shinsuke in sakura petals
based on this pattern i noticed that a number of characters voiced by koyasu takehito have a scene where they give flowers to someone ( https://tamanone.tumblr.com/post/646592956376154112/what-is-it-with-characters-voiced-by-koyasu) and i think takasugi should be one of them
