today in absolutely ludicrous D-III baseball happenings:

Southern Virginia, who was 0-21 coming into today, defeated #3 Salisbury

pretty crazy, right?

oh, also, one more thing: IT WAS A 23-INNING GAME, A NEW D-III RECORD!!!
a few more notes:

this was the completion of a suspended game from Friday. Salisbury was up 3-1 thru 4, then it started pouring. they resumed today at 11 AM and played 19 MORE INNINGS and finished the game around 5 PM (with multiple rain delays throughout the day too lol oof)
zero runs scored from the 9th to the 17th inning, and then BOTH teams scored 1 in the 18th, keeping the game alive. Southern Virginia scored in the top of the 23rd and held on to finish it off for THEIR FIRST WIN OF THE SEASON against an exceptionally strong ranked Salisbury team
of course, these teams were already scheduled to play today in a normal game. that game just started a short while ago -- after having already played 19 innings AND SIX HOURS of the suspended game earlier today

normal #d3b stuff, folks. we salute you @SalisburyBB & @svuathletics
