Social media won’t make you money - and PR won’t help you - if your product or service is no good, or if your product or service is not competitive enough in a saturated niche. Social media and PR are tools to help amplify greatness that exists, not magical hacks.
At least 70% of small businesses who reach out to me don’t even need help on social or PR yet. They need to take a closer look at their business and their target market. Nothing will help you grow until this key element is understood.
It doesn’t matter how skilled the social or PR expert you’ve hired is. It’s not their job to fix your business. It’s their job to market a business that is already appealing to the intended audience, and ready to scale at the next level.
No press will pick you up if you aren’t interesting or different enough (PR) and barely anyone will engage with your social feeds if you aren’t different enough.
In all honesty, no skilled PR or social expert will even accept you as a client until they feel you’re ready. The harsh truth is that many small businesses just aren’t at that stage yet. And that’s perfectly fine! Take your time to build a product/service people want organically
