now that shameless is over, i think it’s time that john wells and nancy pimental are held accountable for their unprofessionalism and immaturity. a reminder that laura wiggins (karen) was written off because she wanted to renegotiate her nudity contract. same with emma greenwell.

karen was written off because laura said she wasn’t comfortable being nude as much on the show anymore. in the second screenshot, she responds to fans that sent her images/gifs of her nude on the show and, as shown, it made her uncomfortable and upset. john wells is awful.

i can’t find the proof but i remember reading somewhere that emma greenwell became increasingly uncomfortable with the nude & love scenes and asked for it to be toned down, to which she was then written off abruptly in season five. are women only good for their bodies, john?

here we have emmy rossum talking about how a nude scene in season four resulted in her having a panic attack on camera because of how dehumanised she felt. and what did john wells do when this happened? used the scene for the show.

i don’t need to show proof of their unprofessionalism when an actor decides to leave. just watch the show and you’ll see it. mickey’s name was dragged through the mud when noel left, his growth was dismissed and his love story with ian was undermined

a fan favourite was belittled to nothing but an angry, abusive character while his relationship was shown to be nothing more than toxic. all his good moments were forgotten while the love of his life mocked his trauma with one of his replacements. john wells is petty and immature

and when emmy rossum decided to leave, it was as if her character never existed. fiona - the main character, the one who raised the majority of the rest of the characters - was literally never mentioned again, only once when her sister coincidentally didn’t remember who she was.

anyways i needed to rant i really cannot stand this man or his producers and the majority of his writers they all suck and don’t deserve their places in the industry and i will stand by this statement. i’m so mad i let myself be so hurt by them for years. fck them

MAY I ALSO ADD: isidora also decided to leave the show to pursue other opportunities and svetlana was NEVER mentioned again. it was as if she never existed. she played a huge part in many main characters’ storylines and that was all dismissed because john wells was mad she left.

this is all i can currently find on emma greenwell wanting to push back on the nudity but it’s not what i originally saw, i’ll keep looking. some say she left to pursue other roles but that doesn’t explain why she’s always been so bitter towards the show since she left
