We should have a number of discursive rules like this. So the below is number 1. https://twitter.com/SuneAuken/status/1391118674380136448">https://twitter.com/SuneAuken...
Discursive rule nr. 2:

Nobody who calls themselves a "free speech advocate/warrior" is willing to accept free speech levelled at themselves.
Discursive rule nr. 3:

Everyone who says "oh, you have no idea" presuppose that yes, indeed, the addressee has quite a bit of an idea.
New rules as you suggest them or I discover them.
Rule number 4:

A person who tells you to "do your research" has no frickin& #39; clue what research is.

variation on a suggestion by @macfilipe .
Rule number 5:

The statement "with all due respect" is universally followed by a statement lacking even the faintest trace of respect.

Variation on a suggestion by @Ardownie.
Rule number 6:

Anything following the statement "I& #39;m not one to gossip, but" will be gossip.

Rule suggested by @Brand_92.
Rule number 7

The statement "no editorial required" invariably serves as the introduction to a sermon.

An uptake on a fine suggestion by @AnniHawk
Rule number 8:

The self-descriptor" "I& #39;m brutally honest" is only honest about the brutality not the honesty.

Suggested by @SoupTomatoSoup
Addendum to the above rule. Honesty never requires brutality, but only diplomacy and integrity.
Rule number 9:

In a research paper any use or or variation of the statement "the traditional notion of the topic is ..." will be followed by a strawman so big that a dumb little piggie has already built a house out of it.
Rule number 10:

Anything that is & #39;Presented without comment& #39;, is in fact, a comment.

Verbatim brilliance from twitter grandee @ASElliotKing
Rule number 11:

"Duely noted" while sounding polite can be levelled as a SFW way of saying "fuck you".
Rule number 12:

Anyone saying "it goes without saying" will immediately say it demonstrating in the process that it doesn& #39;t go without saying.

A variation of a fine suggestion by @DarrenCaudle.
Rule number 13:

Whatever follows the statement "basically ..." will complicate matters to the point of exasperation.

Suggested by @AmosDuveen
Rule number 14:

"Any construction containing the words "let me be clear" will be an obfuscation."

@AmosDuveen is on a roll.
Rule number 15:

If the words "I& #39;m sorry" are followed by any other word than "that", the person is annoyed, not sorry.

I had forgotten that one. Thank you to @morageyrie for reminding me.
Rule number 16:

If you are not racist, you don& #39;t need to say "I& #39;m not racist, but". Also, if you are not racist you don& #39;t make racist statements, so you don& #39;t need the "but" either.

On a suggestion by @maytree1.
