/ If you’re excited about travelling again now there’s a green list from the U.K., maybe consider the following realities:

I’ve just been to Porto and back to London through Paris. Airports have no idea how to handle the comparatively small number of passengers travelling
/ I’ve travelled a lot during the pandemic - but this feels like it’s the system many will be using come May 17. And it’s a very complex, slow, frustrating and expensive process.
/ Some airports have hired private security companies to carry out checks. In Paris, questions include ‘how much did you pay for your test,’ and ‘show me the invoice’ - they don’t realise you can’t complete a passenger locator form without the test booking reference.
/ There are not enough people for these checks, as each person needs 5 minutes to go through all their forms. A full plane is a lot of minutes. They are not aware of the specific requirements in each country, which means overworked officials & pissed off passengers clash
/ Testing costs A FORTUNE. And websites keep crashing. The quicker you want your results, the more you pay. A whole industry is being built up around these travel tests and it feels unfair for the average traveller.
/ Having had both shots of a vaccine - as I thankfully have - means nothing. Some kind of official vaccine passport which works on every airline at every airport needs to happen fast. As does free and quick testing. Because the current system is unsustainable for mass travel.
