The rebuild Tottenham Hotspur needs this summer.

A new manager is of course going to be key in the rebuild. Missing out on 2 of our main targets in Nagelsmann and Ten Hag has left us short of options. For me, there's one manager who fits the profile we're supposedly looking for.
Graham Potter. The king of xG. The English Guardiola. Just like his namesake, can Potter rise from mediocrity to become our magical saviour? I believe so.
Brighton sit just 10 points from safety and 12 points off the top half. So why is a manager who has his team closer to relegation than mid-table even being considered for a job of this magnitude?
Well, Brighton rank 7th in the league for expected goals scored, higher than Arsenal, Leicester, Everton and Spurs. Of course, those teams mentioned have more firepower up front, which only helps xG. But maybe surprisingly, Brighton rank 5th for expected goals conceded.
Not only does Graham Potter have them playing attractive football, but it isn't detrimental to their defensive capabilities. Despite clearly underachieving in front of goal, Brighton have the 5th best defence in the league conceding just 1.15 goals per game.
Since Graham Potter arrived at Brighton they have spent just over £90m on signings. In that time only 4 Premier League clubs have spent less. His 2 marquee signings, Trossard and Maupay, who arrived for a combined £38m in his debut season have both underwhelmed in front of goal.
Graham Potter favours a 3 at the back system, opting for 4 at the back just 7 times in their 40 games this season. This is a positive for our defensive players, Aurier, Reguilon and Doherty all suit a more forward role and our centre backs aren't good enough in a back 4.
For me, this appointment is a no-brainer. He fits the bill in terms of what the club wants. And he left a number of our players impressed when they beat us earlier this season. He's a young, unorthodox manager who would punch above his weight just like Pochettino did for so long.
It's no secret that Spurs need a dominant Centre Back. We've seen the transformation Liverpool and Man City have had with the signings of Van Dijk and Ruben Dias respectively. We're also in dire need of an Eriksen replacement. These are the players we should go for this summer;
Sven Botman. This 6'4" monster is just 21 and is on course to help deliver Lille's first league title for 10 years. His defensive partner, Jose Fonte described him as 'the best of the lot' when compared to those he's played alongside, which includes Alderweireld, VVD and Pepe.
He'd cost in the region of £35m, but that's peanuts for a player that could potentially transform our dismal defence. He's no stranger to possession based football, and being a left-footed CB would slot into our defence seamlessly.
Ben White. It was a toss-up between him and Dunk, but I chose White due to his age and the fact he's played in Bielsa's high-intensity, attacking system.
Homegrown, quick and good on the ball. At just 23 years old he's an absolute star. Comfortable in a back 4 and a back 3. If we were to bring in his manager, I don't think we'd have a hard time convincing him to join. Again, like Botman, he won't come cheap. £30m if we're lucky.
Emerson. Admittedly I didn't know too much about him until recently. I initially wanted Aarons, but with the overhaul we needed and Norwich's asking price it may be too unrealistic. Emerson, however, is a 22-year-old lighting quick Brazilian full-back.
It's still unclear whether he'll be back at Barca or Betis next season, either way, he'd cost between £15-£20m He's good defensively and has excellent technique, he's only played in a back 4 this season, but has attributes that would make him an effective wing-back.
Yves Bissouma. I think every club in the country are looking at the 24 year old midfielder. He's an ideal Sissoko replacement, strong and quick with the ball, he has the technique Sissoko so badly lacked. Again, would fit the system if we get Potter in, whom he's very fond of.
Bissouma is excellent at breaking up play and would add great depth to our midfield choices. He could play alongside Hojbjerg or Ndombele perhaps both, allowing the latter more freedom up the pitch. Beating several clubs to his signing won't be easy and would cost north of £35m.
Emi Buendia. A little magician, he's been fantastic to watch this season at Norwich directly contributing to 31 goals in the league. Can play on the right or through the middle. We've lacked creativity in midfield since Eriksen left and this man can solve that problem
We don't have any players that can create chances for fun, Buendia could change that. He leads the way for key passes in the Championship with 3.1 P/G, second on the list plays only 1.9 P/G. He would cost roughly £35m. A small price to pay to avoid another Grealish situation.
Ivan Toney. We've had 3 striker's come in to play second fiddle to Harry Kane in the past 6 or so years. None really hit the ground running. Unfortunately, it looks as though Vinicius isn't going to get the chance to justify his potential price tag. Toney could.
Spurs fans know we need more than just a backup striker. We need someone who can make a difference in games that aren't just Influenza FC at home in the UEFA conference league. Toney broke the championship goal record this season with 31 goals, while also notching 10 assists.
Wait a minute. A striker who can score as well as create goals? Sounds awfully familiar. Toney isn't an exact carbon copy of our Golden Boy, but he's got similar attributes. Excellent hold-up play, good in the air and draws plenty of fouls.
Toney is only 25, aside from 2 cameos for Newcastle, no real top-flight experience. If Brentford don't get promoted, I'd say £20-£25m would be enough to sign Toney. Ings would be a similar price due to having a year left on his contract. Either player would be a great addition.
Those 6 signings would cost in the region of £170m, that's a big outlay for a club that could still end up without European football. But this isn't just any summer, it's make or break for both the board and the club. It may be the final season for Kane if we fail to win anything
Departures; Lamela (£8m), Sissoko (£5m), Dier (£12m), Sanchez (£15m), Foyth (£8m), Davies (£10m), Aurier (£8m) would give us just over £60m. The additions of Skipp and Sessegnon alongside keeping Bale for another year would give us enough depth to compete for Top 4.
