It's also a good time to reflect on the past few years-- specifically in regards to my artistic progress. [thread]
in 2017, I started uploading my art to twitter via scans of pencil works I made

my only experience with digital art was pieces I did on the "Brawl in The Family" webcomic forums via MS Paint.

I'm not sharing those đŸ˜¶
I started doing sprite commissions in late 2017, and you can still find them on my twitter

but it took a while for me to branch out into drawn commissions; most of my early works were gifts to friends, like this piece for @drtakattack.

I used GIMP then, and I still use it now
I started incorporating techniques from friends works (and my own sprites!) into my digital artwork (still on a mouse and keyboard), and my artwork improved!

in 2020, I decided to take the year off from college due to COVID and focus on my art, "borrowing" a parent's iPad
after I got used to drawing with a stylus, I would spend countless hours a week trying different brushes, styles, etc.-- leading to a lot of burnout and stress, but also a lot of progress

currently, I'm trying to find that middle ground... and I hope I do, for my sanity!
i would like to give thanks to a few people who supported me when I couldn't

@Brickfisst, @2266_luis, @DyingBlades, Ezriel, @Bluto2U2, @drtakattackm, @Lythero, @_Zyzx_, @DNOpls, @LUvvUcy, @xyrafhoan, @whensmahjong, @EmeraldDemond, @KButzKorner , countless others.

thanks, all
of course, this year ain't even half over, so hopefully I can come up with enough material to do something like this next year, otherwise I'm screwed

although I could do a retrospective on my sprite work, we'll see
