Not much discussion at all about currently rising residential property values and what will happen in 2022 to property tax bills if tax rates aren't reduced.

I'm only aware of one candidate who has even mentioned it: #Mike4Fredericton
We all know that somebody has to pay for these new areas of municipal responsibility and "partnerships".

That's property owners and (indirectly) tenants. Nobody wants to talk about the costs though. So, Fredericton voters, get ready to dig deep in your jeans next spring when the property tax bills come out.

And it won't help to complain then if you agree right now that the City should start hiring addictions counsellors, social workers and housing specialists and acquiring properties and renovating them to get into the housing game.

Because that's what it means to "partner" on homelessness. It means spending municipal property tax dollars on a problem that the provincial government specialists haven't yet been able to solve, despite a lot of effort and money.

Vote carefully on Monday. It could be a very expensive decision.
