Some patients have reported developing painful mouth ulcers or rashes on their tongues, this has been dubbed as "COVID tongues"

So what does COVID tongue look like?
Your tongue may start to appear white and patchy
Patients have also reported an unusually dry mouth and subsequent fungal infection.
It could also be accompanied by a change to the tongue's sensation & pain during chewing

What are the symptoms ?
Patient may report
Burning sensation while eating, Decreased thirst
Decreased urination
Altered taste for quite a long time.
Intraoral examination reveals white lacy patches on tongue which may not be completely scrappable while brushing.

What causes COVID tongue?
There are a lot of ACE receptors in the tongue, so the virus concentrates very heavily in this region.
In tongue,there can be a lot of viral load and that can lead to symptoms like tongue bumps and tongue swelling.
