You Could Be Killing Yourself & Shortening Your Lifespan.

6 things YOU can do to stop your mind from killing you.

// THREAD //
You ever notice how sometimes you're anxiously awaiting something or someone?

You notice how that uneasy feeling in your gut rears its ugly head the more you think about it?
Or how some people experience high blood pressure when they go through immense stress, emotionally?

Well, it's because your emotions affect your health.

Negative attitudes and feelings have the power to damage your immune system!
Negative emotions and feelings create chronic stress.

They upset the body's hormonal balance.

They also lead to a reduction in the brain chemicals required for happiness.
Negative emotions like anger can lead to health problems like hypertension, cardiovascular diseases, and digestive disorders.

I recently read about a man with tightness in his arm.

Wait, bear with me for a minute here.

This is going somewhere. 😊
He tried everything he could, went to doctors and all.

They couldn't identify what the problem was.

Until he tried a psychologist.

After a few sessions, the shrink realized that this man was full of anger, hate, and bitterness.
He had employed a man he trusted a lot.

Took him under his wings as an apprentice, and taught him all he knew.

Allowed him to run his business for him.

Only to end up getting f*cked over by that same dude.
The anger and hate for this dude was so much that it affected his arm.

After multiple therapy sessions, the psychologist led him to forgive and embrace more positivity.

His arm problem had disappeared as his emotions calmed down.
You can see it in your daily lives too.

Look at people that go through Immense grief.

They'll suddenly look like they've aged 10 years in a month and can't seem to stay healthy.

Some people die slowly from negative emotions, some die faster.

Ok, what can YOU do to avoid this?
1. Do not try to suppress your emotions.

When you suppress your negative emotions, they only come out stronger.

Learn to identify your emotions.

Be honest to yourself on how you feel, and why you feel that way.
2. Journal every day and write down your thoughts, feelings, and emotions.

You could also talk to a positive friend about how you feel.

This helps in releasing the burden and tension by allowing you to identify what you're feeling and why.
3. You need to learn to forgive and let go.

If you're finding it hard to do so on your own, get a therapist or a friend to help and guide you.

Just like the man earlier, let go of your anger and understand that you're doing this for yourself.

Not the person that hurt you.
4. Learn to count your blessings.

You are SO focused on all the bad that happens, you forget to notice the good.

Keep a journal, and write 10 good things that's happened in your life that you're grateful for.

This'll have a huge impact on your mood, health, & quality of life.
5. Practice meditation.

Meditation helps to calm you down and allows you to feel more at peace.

Plus, it also trains your mind to identify negative thoughts quickly.

With practice, you'll be better able to discard the ones that don't serve you.
6. Positive self-talk and affirmations.

Whenever you feel negativity creeping in, do not give it a chance.

Reinforce yourself by repeating positive mantras to yourself.

And never speak negatively.

Program yourself to be positive.
If you can find one thing to be negative about, then I'm sure you can also find three more to be positive about!

If you were lacking a reason to be more positive:

Your life could depend on it.

Don't put your health and life at risk.

Embrace positivity & live a healthier life.
