#DoYouLikeBrahms
A review thread.
It's been a while since I've watched a romantic melodrama I go more for the mystery/life lessons kdrama. If i do watch romance related i chose the romcom ones. Oh but what a treat this has been!
At 1st glance, was nt sure if id like it. Was not a fan of classical music, only know #KimMinJae and #KimSungCheol thru supporting roles of Romantic Doctor and Prison Playbook and i dnt think ive seen a drama with #JiHyunPark in it. But I love #ParkEunbin so i gave it a try.
And it got me. From episode 1 to the last. There was never a scene that bored me. I wasnt expecting comedic scenes but it still managed to make me smile.
The leads were all a great. Park Eunbin is Park Eunbin. She's a pro and even though i hated her character's reason for the breakup, she conveyed it in a way that i understood why she had to do it.
I saw a different side of Kim Min Jae and Kim Sung Cheol here. The former's quiet but kind attitude and the latter's happy go lucky who loves deeply persona was really endearing. Although I hoped i got to see more of them reconciling and being friends again.
But what surprised me was Ji Hyun Park. I never knew her before this. But she was really good. She made me hate her as a villain, pity her for wanting things she can't or doesnt have and still root for her success as an individual.
I like that the writers showed the process of how Joon Young and Song Ah fell in love. From strangers to friends with benefits to you make me smile friends to I-cant-be-ur-friend-coz-saranghaeyo. Gash! STILL GIDDY WITH THAT SEEN 😍.
I never believed in love at first sight. And this drama really shows that love is a process. It's a choice. A choice you make for yourself to be happy and not for the other person. Coz as Joon Young said, "love adequately"
I also liked that this kinda opened my eyes to the world of being a musician. Before, i thought if you have talent, you could succeed in this industry. But oh boy how so wrong was I? It's much more than that.
To all musicians out there: Never give up. I hope you all never lose ur passion. I wish good opportunities always come ur way. And may u never be angels whose "wings were clipped". If you do become one, i hope music wil stil find its way to comfort u.
Rewatch value? Definitely.
Let me end this thread with my favorite line from the drama.

"As time passes, you tend to remember when you hurt someone, more than when someone hurts you. So do not hurt someone too deeply."
