Something about Jerusalem, violence and legitimacy. A thread.

If you're following me here, you probably know that I don't differentiate between the occupation of 1948 where Israel took by force 72% of Palestine, and the occupation of 1967 when Israel took all that remained.>
It makes no sense to take into consideration what the world thinks, because Palestine belongs to its indigenous population and that's it. But reality is making us. So let's remind ourselves, East Jerusalem isn't recognised by any country in the world as a part of Israel.
Israel is the only one who does. The old city, as well as Shiekh Jarrah, are in East Jeursalem. And yet, even though Palestine and the whole world don't recognise it, Israel has there ministries buildings, police headquarters and very big Israeli neighbourhoods (=settlements)
Israel hasn't only steal ("legally confiscated") lands from Jerusalemite Palestinians, it also expelled many of them, starting the week of the 1967 war, and we still see it in Sheikh Jarrah today. The Israeli goal is to remove Palestinians and replace them with Jews.
Israel even has a special "permanent residency" status for Palestinian Jerusalemites that denies them their freedom to vote either in Israeli or Palestinian elections, and has a legal mechanism that can easily cause permanent expulsion from Jerusalem to the West Bank
The Israeli municipality of Jerusalem and government don't allow Palestinians to build within their own neighbourhoods. No approved urban planning in East Jerusalem, no building permits to residents who wish to extend their houses so their children can live on another floor.
Even though there are a few police station + headquarters in East Jerusalem, police does not protect Jerusalemite Palestinians from crime. Police considers them not a population to protect, but an enemy to protect from. So, domestic abuse, drugs being sold to children - ignored.
