i feel like there's something to be said about the phenomenon of 'mansplaining' being related to men generally not being encouraged to express themselves, and therefore feeling like nobody will understand them unless they overclarify.
not to suggest that men are somehow soooo oppressed. also not suggesting that it is women's fault. simply a thought
also i would to make it very clear that i do believe it is very often rooted in misogyny, and women are 100% allowed to feel like their intelligence is being insulted. i just think sometimes things are more complex than people make them out to be.
men can and should do better. every single person should be working to erase their implicit biases. every single person also deserves empathy in the meantime.
