Iwaizumi who loves to bake after he kept trying and trying to perfect a milk bread recipe to make oikawa tooru (15) feel better and then it just Goes from there and he’ll bring something to try to treat the team once a week and everyone goes to his house for baked goods..
he starts to bake for birthdays and other special occasions, always just for fun!
it gets harder in college to find money for ingredients and time to bake, but when a local frat boy finds out he can bake, iwaizumi is invited to use their kitchen anytime

he makes muffins for the hungover frat boys! and always thanks his professors with a baked good that he knows they’ll love. (how does he do it? food is his language of love and he’s always had a lot of it)
and since food is the language of love, to celebrate Oikawa’s citizenship in argentina, he presents oikawa with the same milk bread recipe he perfected all those years ago, and even if the ingredients aren’t the same and the hands that made it are far changed and much older,
it’s the best Oikawa’s ever had because he can feel so much love pouring out of it with just one bite
(and maybe it stays that way for a little while, hardly a taste taken from iwaizumi’s labor of love as oikawa does something long overdue to show his)

and so Iwaizumi’s love-for all things baking and for all things oikawa-only continues to grow.
(and the only special occasion he’s ever banned from baking for is his own wedding. tooru complains because of course nothing could compare.
