Rodrigo De Paul - Could he be the Messiah for Arsenal in 2021-22?

Arsenal’s creativity woes were clearly visible this season but only until the Christmas when Arteta decided to use promising academy product Emile Smith-Rowe against Chelsea who has clearly impressed

ESR alone wasn’t enough so Martin Ødegaard was brought in too in the winter.

But unfortunately, Martin Ødegaard might be going back to Real Madrid due to our lack of European football next season

Houssem Aouar, Emi Buendia and Phillipe Coutinho are the options that Arsenal are exploring but the one name they should be looking for is Rodrigo De Paul.

Leeds were heavily interested in RDP last summer but were slapped away by Udinese’s 35 million asking price. Liverpool and Inter Milan are battling out to sign RDP next summer

So Arsenal must hurry up if they want Rodrigo De Paul as their new Magnifico Messiah

Player Profile:

Rodrigo De Paul started off his career at Racing Club in Argentina and then moved to Spanish side Valencia in 2014.

He actually started as a Left Winger before moving into more of a central role at midfield when he joined Italian side Udinese in 2016

Strengths and abilities:

Rodrigo De Paul, despite being a central midfielder loves to drift into the right flank and create chances for his teammates.

On the ball, there’s nothing he can’t do really. He can shoot from long distance, create chances, cross, set pieces and dribble

He is also the captain of Udinese so his captaincy and leadership would be vital if he was to join Arsenal.

RDP loves the ball so much that he puts in a shift when his team is off the ball. But his bad boy attitude is clearly visible from the 2 red cards he has got this season

Now these are not world class numbers but this stat shows how consistent RDP really is.

40-50 million would be enough to lure Rodrigo De Paul from Udinese if Arsenal were to sign him although there has to be an interest first.

Soon to be 27 this month, RDP is entering his prime years and Arsenal must be all after him if they are a serious club.

If RDP somehow does sign for Arsenal then just imagine the attack..
