I think the decision to just whistle past the midterms while letting the GOP rig them with voter suppression and aggressive gerrymandering is baffling but if you're going to do that you should at least be e.g. eliminating the debt ceiling while you're in power to do so.

Like, what is the plan here? Just let the GOP take over the country again and hope they're nice to us this time? Hope you'll buck every historical precedent and win a crushing landslide in the midterms big enough to overcome conservative rigging?

I had hoped Jan. 6 made the stakes clear but apparently not. The barbarians are at the gate, the country is under siege and the battle plan we're hearing from the leaders in government is (literally) "we'll hide under some desks and hope it'll all somehow work itself out"
