There is only one answer to the problem of racism, and that is individualism. Nothing else will ever work. You can dress up fancy “anti-racist” theories in all sorts of smart sounding jargon, and they will amount to nothing but more of the same if they are not individualism.

Individualism is among the most throughly & militantly hated of all ideas. For all of recorded history, it’s been the target of unrelenting abuse from left & right—before there was a left or a right. But in fact it is the ONLY valid perspective in morality, politics, etc.—

Individualism is maturity. In every sense of the word. That is the reason why it is the target of all who despise liberty & reason, and who want to make mankind into a vast series of mutually incomprehensible tribes, whose one rule is to obey.

Obey the spokesman for the class. Obey the leader of the race. Be a good, obedient member of the group. Fit within the profile. Derive your whole identity & selfhood from what category you fit into. That’s their doctrine. It’s been their doctrine since humanity lived in caves.

But there is a better way. A way that says you, as a particular human being, have the opportunity and the right to make of your life what you want; that you bear the responsibility & liberty to make your own choices, & that who you are isn’t destined, including by your “allies.”

As a thinking human being, what’s encoded in your DNA is NOT who you are—& those who say it is are NOT your friends. And those who want us to think that way (“is this person a member of MY group? What did her ancestors think about mine?”) are not helping you.

There was never any primordial crime. Humanity arose from a sea of constant crimes & cruelties. & it did so by discovering the principle: “I don’t live for other people. My life belongs to me. And my neighbor’s life belongs to my neighbor.” THAT principle is the cure for racism.

The ONLY cure for racism. Ever.
