Two women were murdered this week - one in Kent, the other in Essex - their bodies found in bushes. Julia James was walking her dog, Maria Rawlings had just had a hospital appointment.

Why isn’t there the same level of public outcry there was for Sarah Everard? Is it their age?
Lots of people are saying the same things in the replies, so in summary:

1.) It seems to be acknowledged that some cases are of more interest to the media, whether that be due to age, social class, looks or race.
2) There was more interest in the Sarah Everard case inevitably because the alleged suspect was an off duty police officer. The public feeling about this was one of shock so soon after the the riots following regarding the death of George Floyd/BLM.
