Here’s the pro-Trump mob storming the barricades about an hour after Hawley’s fist pump:
Now, I know what your thinking. What if the entire crowd that Hawley saluted just up and left, and an entirely new group came in an rioted?
So let’s just take this bullhorn guy. Here he is before Hawley’s arrival, here he is rioting, here he is leading the mob through the police line.

Honestly the tougher thing would be finding people who were there for Hawley’s fist pump and DIDN’T break the law. And they can’t even claim ignorance like those who arrived later have, because they saw those barricades get ripped down and joined the mob anyway.
Hawley claimed it was a “slur” to call Jan. 6 demonstrators rioters. But if you actually believed the election was stolen, isn’t the more embarrassing thing doing absolutely nothing about it? Hawley seems really determined to defend this tiny contingent of people who came to DC because they actually truly believed the election was stolen, but weren’t willing to put any skin in the game at all.
