It's perfectly normal for a person to be absolutely OK with being disabled.

It's ableism and an ableist society that makes this seem weird.
A person being OK with being disabled must not have any bearing on how people perceive their disability. So, people should never assume a person's disability is no big deal if that person is not cursing life itself for being disabled.
A disability can need support and adjustments and care and anything else and still be something a person is totally OK with.

This seems to be a hard thing for able folk to understand.
It's well worth listening to wheelchair users, the Blind community, the autistic community and lots of other disabled groups on this issue.
I don't wish to speak for these demographics as its not my place. Find them, follow them, listen to them.
