Everybody is talking about that scene in ra7o. I tried to avoid tweeting about it and especially won’t RT with the actual footage. Here’s my opinion:
1. Some people found it problematic because it’s ramadan
2. Could have passed the message differently

3. Western shows have warnings so you choose to watch or not
4. Issue is: the woman got pregnant before marriage. Family is panicking because of society. She marries someone with cognitive disability to “testor 7ela” and trick him. Forces herself to sleep with him.

5. Directing is horrible plus it went on for too long
6. It’s triggering for many
7. Multiple issues: pressure of society, taking advantage of cognitively disabled man, forcing herself to sleep with him
8. I don’t watch Lebanese shows often but this year I did. Rarely good

9. The messages behind most shows are so damn horrible: almost every show has abuse (all types)
10. Wasn’t going to say anything but my TL is filled with this and it should be talked about properly.
