Of all the fictional narratives the media has invented to drive ratings in 2021, the most absurd is that January 6th almost succeeded in magically keeping Trump in power. Yeah right. That attack destroyed Trump, and if it had been more violent, it’d have destroyed him even more.
The January 6th attack was horrific and treasonous among other things. But it was also mind numbingly stupid, a bunch of idiots destroying their own movement’s viability, with no goal or strategy of any kind, guaranteed to end in total failure no matter how if played out.
To paint January 6th as having almost overthrown an election is to write pure fiction. Yet that’s what the media is increasingly doing in 2021, because keeping Trump’s ghost alive is the only way for the media to boost its ratings now that Trump himself is 100% irrelevant.
When the media falsely claims those idiots with their total lack of a plan somehow “nearly succeeded” in overturning an election and magically installing a dictator, the media is encouraging idiots to try these things again. Not that they’ll succeed, but more blood will be shed.
The real problem is that so many of YOU have heard the media repeat the “January 6th almost succeeded” lie so many times, you’re now starting to mindlessly repeat it as if it were true. Which means you’re also unwittingly encouraging these idiots to try something like that again.
Here’s what actually happened on January 6th:

- Members of Congress were in danger, but even if they’d died, it wouldn’t have magically helped Trump in any way

- 300 pro Trump idiots sent themselves to prison for nothing

- Trump’s chances in 2024 went from slim to zero
You should feel outraged about January 6th. You should absolutely feel outraged. But you don’t have to pretend that it “almost succeeded” or that “they got away with it all” or any of that media hyperbole, just do you can feel outraged. Don’t rewrite history for outrage addiction
You haven’t heard a single media pundit explain how if the Capitol invaders had killed Pence or Pelosi, it would have led to Trump getting another term. And you never will, because there’s no such scenario, and every media pundit knows it. They’re playing you for ratings.
One of the real tragedies of January 6th is that the media’s breathless doomsday hyperbole about the attack has served to overshadow and diminish the horrors that actually took place that day. Murdered cops. Racist thugs. Confederate flags. Focus on that, not imaginary scenarios.
The media already baited you into believing Trump “almost won” in 2020 when he lost in non-competitive fashion. Don’t let the media bait you into believing he “almost succeeded” on January 6th when there was no scenario that would have resulted in him getting another term.
The more the media succeeds in keeping you focused on the imaginary scenario of Trump’s ghost jumping out at you from behind every corner, the more distracted you are from the real threats actually facing this country. The media is making you useless, because it wants ratings.
