Let's re-collect a less-known saga of bravery & valour of Longshree Devi Solanki & other Jat veeranganas 🙏

Battle of Chiksana (Bharatpur)
Date:- 8th May 1694 CE

Belligerent:- Jat Confedracy || Mughal Empire

Commanders:
Jats~Longshree Devi (Solanki Jat)
Mughals~Jahan Khan
Background:
In the Jat-Mughal War (1688-97 CE),6 dung sardaris carved out principalities (from Mughal Empire) & Balram Singh Dagur, ruler of Jagrauti fought in a Confederacy with these Dungs against Mughals.

The rulers of principalities of Sonkh (Banarasi Singh Kuntal), Sogar..
(Rai Rustam Singh) & Sinsini (Rao Churaman) were finally ousted frm their strongholds by 1693.They with their prominent sardars took refuge with 'Sardar Rai' Maujh Singh Chahar of Chainkora ( the ruler of principality of Sidgiri) & frm there continued their fight against Mughals.
Grandson of Aurangzeb Bidar-Bakht,Fidal Khan (Subadar of Agra), Raja Bishen Singh Kachhwaha of Amber,Raja of Kotah & Bundi,Raja Kalyan Singh Bhadauria of Bah & many other Mughal officials after a vigorous campaign against Jats of Sidgiri captured forts of Fatehpur Sikri,Chainkora
Khorsa,Udhera,Bachhamadi & other imp strongholds.
Now the Ring-leaders of Jats took refuge at Chiksana (last stronghold of Sidgiri)
By May 1694, Mughals & their vassals hv surrounded the fort of Chiksana frm all sides.Jats were much less in number & resources + all ring-leaders
were taking refuge inside it..It was very imp for ring leaders to escape frm Chiksana to continue fight against Mughal empire & finally win the war.

About Chiksana & Longshree Devi:
The chief of Chiksana was Chaudhary Chandr Sen Bisayati..He was an imp sardar of 'Sardar Rai' Ram
Chahar who was the first ruler of Sidgiri principality & his successor Maujh Singh. The daughter of Ch Chandr Sen Bisayati was married to "Braj-Raj', Thakur of Sinsini, hence Chandr Sen was 'Nana' of Bhao Singh & Rao Churaman.
Chandr Sen had 8 sons. His son Indr Sen was married to
Longshree Devi, a Solanki Jat (Daughter of Surjeet Singh of Midhakur-Agra).Longshree was well trained in art of warfare, she was smart, caring & utmost loyal to her in-laws.

Events:
Mughals surrounded fort of Chiksana with a force multiplied against number of Jats.
Chandr Sen gave
gave assurance to those 4 Jat chiefs & their sardars that ''Whatever will happen today but the Bisayati soldiers will not allow the Mughals to capture the Jat Chiefs''.

The Mughals under command of Jahan Khan besieged the fort. The 7 out of 8 sons of Chandr Sen came out of castle
They fought bravely but all perished..Indr Sen after hearing news of all his brothers angrily sat on his horse & came out of the fort alone in impulse. The brave warrior naturally couldn't stand against Mughal might alone & attained veergati..The Jat women broke their bangles &
were preparing to die as now it was obvious that the fort will fall soon. The refugee Jats chiefs & their Sardars now abandoned the idea of escaping & prepared to fight the Mughal forces outside the fort.Chaudhary Chandr Sen stopped them & said ''So what if my all sons hv perished
so what most of my men have perished,as long as I am alive I will fulfill my promise''.
Longshree Devi realized that it is not the right time for mourning the death of her husband & relatives. She went to her sisters-in-law & mocked them
'how can you women cry, your Chaudhary has
made a promise to Ganapatis (Ruler of Gan-Rajya) & all his sons hv fought bravely & died for it..Now our father-in law is going alone to fulfil his promise but how long could the brave old man stand against the Mughal hordes. What will be the future generations say about Bisayatia
Paal that when it was time for our Chaudhary to fulfill his promise, his daughters in-law were crying in their chambers instead of fighting the enemy Mughals.''
The Bahuranis & other widows charged by Longshree Devi's words took swords in their hands & get prepared for fight.
Longshree Devi asked her father-in law to escort the Jat chiefs in safety & she herself came out of fortress to fight Mughals & their vassals.Jahan Khan taunted the women warriors.Soon the battle turned fierce & each Jat women fought like lioness..In the middle of the battle..
Longshree Devi lead the fierce charge which resulted in slaying of Jahan Khan, the commander of Mughal army..
The leaderless Mughal army was forced to retreat for a while.Meanwhile the Jat leaders successfully came out of the peril.

Hari Singh Khangarot, commander of Raja Bishan
Singh of Amber again laid a siege on fortress afresh.Longshree Devi & other Jat veeranganas bravely fought.
A total of about 500 Jat warriors including Longshree Devi & her father-in law Chandr Sen Bisayatwar attained veergati..At last,Mughals captured the fort but they couldn't
capture a single Jat Chief (which was objective & pledge of Chaudhary Chandr Sen Bisayatwar). His whole family died but ful-filled the promise made to the rebellious Jat Confederacy.

Longshree Devi Bisayatwar will be remembered by Jats for her utmost bravery,Chivalry & Loyalty 🙏
