Disclaimer: I’m not a professional musician. These are just my observation and opinions, and, to me, what they did was amazing that I can’t seem to shut up about it.

Since it’s a remix, we have to take a look at the original

The music is for dancing but the lyrics has a sad monologue. It’s about feeling during a break up and asking the other not to leave them because it will ruin them. Despite the contrast, people love it as it is.

GIDLE, however, makes song where moods of music and lyrics match. Sad music for sad lyrics. Example would be their Put It Straight. But, it seems they also want to respect Sad Dream being known for a song to dance to

I did a little light research myself and found these (pls don’t mind the edits).

By using tango vibes, they were able to deepen the mood of the lyrics without losing the dance aspect. Like matching puzzle pieces. They made sound like theirs but still respect the original. Genius!

So that’s it. Nothing grand, just their keen attention to detail! I just love how they match lyrics and the vibe of the music.
