1) The biggest difference was changing my theme. Had to find a balance between https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="✨" title="Funken" aria-label="Emoji: Funken">aestheticshttps://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="✨" title="Funken" aria-label="Emoji: Funken"> and functionality.

I opted for GeneratePress, cause their themes are very lightweight and I was still able to customize it quite well!

2) Got rid of any plugins that I wasn& #39;t using or I didn& #39;t REALLY need. Also found out I accidentally had three (!?!?) plugins for caching, so scaled that down :)

3) Changed to a faster host! One of the main issues with my site was slow server speed - so I moved my site to @lyricalhost and they& #39;ve been FANTASTIC https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="😍" title="Lächelndes Gesicht mit herzförmigen Augen" aria-label="Emoji: Lächelndes Gesicht mit herzförmigen Augen">

4) Deleted most of the heavy stuff from my footer (had a hotel banner and email sign-up in there, but who even scrolls all the way down?)

5) Downloaded WP-Optimize to help clean up my site. Super easy way to get rid of old drafts/comments/revisions etc!

6) Made sure lazy-loading was on for all my images, and that none of my images were unnecessarily big.

7) Cleaned up my code. I& #39;ve had my site for 3+ years and there was a lot of code left from bad plugins that I installed over the years...

8) And lastly, when re-designing my site with GeneratePress, I made sure there weren& #39;t any big loading blocks at the top. I avoided any featured images and other "heavy" site aspects :)
