A newly built house is vacated by the previous tenants in one of the worst blackspots of overcrowding in the country. It was vacated months ago. But only this week, the council decided to board up this house and put the shutters on it.
And because the council have no efficient mechanism to replace the tenants with new tenants, bearing in mind there are countless families who are struggling with overcrowding in Moyross, questions are asked, why has this happened?
So instead of answering why they don't have the proper mechanisms in place, the council release a statement saying the house was boarded up because they received information that the house was in danger of being vandalised.
Rather than be questioned about their ineptitude, the council resorts to deflection through stereotypes and stigma. Residents in Moyross are furious.
And families not only don't trust or have confidence in the council, but actually feel vilified and undignified by the very authority tasked with ensuring a brighter future for the community.
